Looks like Bo did it again. He and Dad Stan Redford doubled while on a Spring 09 Turkey hunt at Lake of the Ozarks. Nice gobbler Bo and keep up the sport. Looks like your Dad has a perfect hunting buddie now. Aunt Gertie is proud of both of you. HERE IS BO'S STORY HE SENT ABOUT THE TURKEY HE SHOT: It was a early Friday morning about 7 a.m. I was using my 870 Remington shotgun. We did not know if we would get a turkey because it was very windy. But we were wrong, here comes three jakes. My dad asked me which one I wanted and I said the one on the right. I took the shot, nailed him! I jumped up, but my dad told me to shut up and sit down. He wanted one too and he took his shot and hit him too! Then the third one jumped on my dads until we got tired of watching. We scared him off and that's how I killed my turkey! (Bo wrote this story and sent it to me by Kirby to put on the site)! Shirley's story: Well Gary and I got up before daylight and went to this open field located near the Lake of the Ozarks. He put his turkey decoys in the ground and then put this camo tent with stakes in the ground. We got inside the tent and he un-zipped the windows where we could see out. He then started using a Jake call, then switched to this little thing like a stick rubbing it onto something and it sounded like a hen turkey. He kept making the sound and soon we heard a gobble. He kept using the hen call and then we seen this big gobbler coming toward his decoys all fluffed out and I said in a low voice, oh Gary he is too pretty to shoot, don't shoot. The gobbler was headed straight to his decoy and he shot him with a 10 gauge full choke shotgun. The gobbler had a 10" beard and weighed 20 pounds. (Shirley is my sister and this was her first turkey hunt)!
