Gertie M. Barber was born south of Muldrow, Oklahoma and attended school at nearby Gans, Oklahoma. She has been self-employed as a handbag designer and manufacturer, secretary/bookkeeper/ game cock breeder and taxidermist. She is married to B.J. and they have three children and two great grandchildren. After retirement she raises beagle dogs, enjoys the great outdoors hunting and fishing!
